Important Dates and Information

Must be in place by Tuesday, July 5 at 5:00 p.m.
Health certificates will be checked: Tuesday, July 5, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Papers must be checked before you weigh-in.
Weigh-in: Tuesday, July 5, 7:00 p.m.
Release Time (other than sale animals): Following the swine show on Thursday until 6:00 a.m. Friday, following the goat show on Friday until 6:00 a.m. Saturday and following the beef show on Saturday until 10:30 a.m. on Sunday
Entry Form

Rules

  1. All breeding swine, market barrows and gilts, and crossbred gilts must have been farrowed on or after January 1, 2022.
  2. All pigs must be ear notched and/or have crossbred tags.
  3. Senior gilts must have been farrowed between January 1 and January 31, 2022.
  4. Junior gilts must have been farrowed on or after February 1, 2022.
  5. Registration papers will be required in all Purebred Classes. Registration must show ownership of the animals in the name of the exhibitor or ownership by immediate family members, including the exhbitor. Double registered animals will be allowed entry in only one breed show. Papers must accompany the animal to the show ring and be checked by the committee.
  6. Barrows, Crossbred Gilts and Market Gilts will be weighed to determine the class in which they will show. There will be no re-weighs. Barrows, crossbred gilts, and market gilts will be weighed Tuesday, July 5, at 7:00 p.m. You must specify whether your gilt is a commercial gilt or market gilt at weigh-in so it can be painted as such. Numbers will be painted.

    Weigh in order: We will start with Barrows. Once they have all been weighed in, we will move to Cross Gilts and the Market Gilts. If pigs come up out of order, they will be sent back until we are ready!
  7. All swine must be in place Tuesday, July 5 by 5:00 p.m. Pigs may start arriving anytime after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 4. The vet and swine committee will be here to check papers before you are allowed to weigh-in.
  8. Pens will be assigned by the swine superintendent. There will be panels available to split pens if needed. We want to accommodate everyone, and there will be a necessity for multiple pigs to a pen.
  9. Crossbred barrows will be limited to eight single barrows. Class limited to two animals per exhibitor.
  10. All purebred and commercial exhibitors are limited to two entries per class. Each animal may be shown in one individual class.
  11. IL Swine need not be tested for Brucellosis or Pseudorabies. Check IL Health Requirements.
  12. Negative SN test required for each animal or validated herd.
  13. Please check with your veterinarian to be sure that you have the proper identification requirements for Brucellosis and Pseudorabies testing.
  14. Gilts will be weighed to determine in which crossbred gilt class they will show. Each exhibitor is limited to two crossbred gilts.
  15. All exhibitors will be responsible for bedding and cleaning their own pens. Exhibitor must provide their own wood shavings. All pens must be cleaned before receiving premium checks.
  16. All swine will be cared for by the Exhibitor to their full potential (Feed, Water, Bathed, Fly Spray, etc.). If it is determined by the Swine Committee that there is a problem, you will be asked to leave
  17. Swine, other than sale animals, will be released following the swine show on Thursday until 6:00 a.m. Friday, following the goat show, until 6:00 a.m. Saturday and following the beef show on Saturday until 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Swine still on the premises at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday must remain until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. All 4-H exhibitors must have animal cards filled out and turned in for animals going through the 4-H auction to the Superintendent by the end of the show. All sale barrows must be left on the grounds until after the 4-H auction concludes. Any pigs that are removed will be disqualified from the sale.
  18. Social Security numbers are required.
  19. SHOW ORDER will start alphabetical.
